诺亚方舟的故事是我最喜欢的《圣经》故事之一，记载在《创世纪》。上帝见到地上充满败坏、强暴和不法的邪恶行为，就计划用洪水消灭恶人。同时他发现，人类之中有一位叫做诺亚的义人，就指示诺亚，带着他的妻子、儿子和儿媳建造一艘方舟，将成双（一雌一雄）的牲畜与鸟类等动物带上方舟。当方舟建完时，大洪水也开始了，这时诺亚与他的家人，以及动物们皆已进入了方舟。大雨下了四十个昼夜，洪水淹没了最高的山，在陆地上的生物全部死亡，只有诺亚一家人和方舟中的生命得以存活。在220天之后，方舟在亚拉腊山附近停下，洪水渐渐消退。诺亚一家人与各种动物便走出方舟。离开方舟之后，诺亚将一只祭品献给神。上帝闻见献祭的香气决定不再用洪水毁灭世界，并在天空制造了一道彩虹，作为保证。
